South Park is heading home. In a long‑running media tug‑of‑war, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a breakthrough deal with Paramount Global to bring the iconic animated series exclusively to Paramount+ across the U.S. and globally. Under the agreement, Paramount will pay Park County, the run‑by‑creators production company, more than $300 million per year — totaling over $1.25 billion across five years — to stream every episode, including the full 26‑season library, and produce 50 new episodes during that period.
After months of tense negotiations, even including a lawsuit over alleged interference in rival bids, the parties surpassed what was described as one of the richest television deals in history — and their licensing arrangement ensures new South Park content will debut on Comedy Central and then stream on Paramount+ the next day.
The agreement also marks a win for Paramount+, securing the show’s global streaming rights for the first time in the U.S., after its previous licensing with HBO Max expired in late June.
For fans, the timing was ideal: Season 27 premiered Wednesday on Comedy Central, and thanks to the new deal, new episodes will soon be available the following day on Paramount+.
In short — the triumphant return of America’s most profanity-laced cartoon to its parental streaming platform has finally been secured. South Park stays, and keeps streaming."
