Tory Lanez’s Lawyer Claims New Witness Heard Megan Thee Stallion’s Friend Confess to Shooting

Tory Lanez's legal team has introduced new claims suggesting that he was not the individual who shot Megan Thee Stallion, asserting that fresh evidence supports his innocence.

During a recent press conference, Lanez’s attorneys revealed that a man named Bradley James, who identified himself as a former bodyguard for Kelsey Harris—Megan’s former friend and a key witness in the case—approached them. James allegedly stated that he overheard Harris confessing to being the one who shot Megan. Notably, James did not testify during the original trial and was absent from the press event. Lanez’s legal team is now urging California Governor Gavin Newsom to issue a pardon, although they have yet to submit a formal petition.

Megan Thee Stallion's attorney, Alex Spiro, dismissed the press conference, emphasizing that Lanez was convicted by a jury and that the case was appropriately resolved through the legal system. Spiro stated, “This is not a political matter — this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”

This development follows a recent incident where Lanez was stabbed 14 times in prison, leading to both of his lungs collapsing. Despite the severity of the attack, he has resumed breathing independently and is expected to make a full recovery. The assailant has been identified as Santino Casio, a fellow inmate serving a life sentence for murder.

Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence after being convicted in December 2022 for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. The charges included first-degree assault with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle
