Rapper Lil Durk is alleged to have booked multiple international flights and was reportedly on the verge of boarding one just before his arrest on a federal murder-for-hire charge. According to an affidavit filed by FBI Special Agent Sarah Corcoran, Durk — whose real name is Tyquian Bowman — was taken into custody at FDC Miami, where he is currently being held.
The affidavit states that five individuals connected to Durk's OTF (Only the Family) collective were arrested early Thursday morning (October 24) when federal agents executed search warrants across the Chicago area. Shortly after these arrests, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) alerted the FBI that Durk had booked seats on two international flights.
The first flight, scheduled to depart from Miami to Dubai, connected through Doha, Qatar, and was set for the evening of October 24. The second flight, also a one-way ticket, would have taken Durk from Fort Lauderdale to Switzerland, with a stopover in New Jersey, departing the same night. Agent Corcoran highlighted that Dubai’s lack of an extradition treaty with the U.S. suggested Durk may have been attempting to avoid arrest.
Although Durk did not board either commercial flight, Corcoran stated that at 6:40 p.m. ET, CBP flagged yet another booking. This time, Durk was scheduled to take a private jet from Miami to Italy at 9:00 p.m. ET. He was apprehended roughly an hour before the flight, near the airport.
The Chicago rapper now faces a federal murder-for-hire charge, accused of orchestrating a plot to kill rapper Quando Rondo in retaliation for the 2020 death of his close friend and fellow rapper, King Von. The five individuals arrested — identified as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston — are facing charges of murder-for-hire and conspiracy.
Prosecutors allege the group targeted Quando Rondo in Los Angeles in August 2022 but mistakenly killed his cousin, Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, who was with him at the time. The indictment, filed in the U.S. Central District Court of California, claims the suspects relied on OTF funds to carry out the attack, using the label's credit card for flights and rental cars.
Durk is believed to have directly ordered the hit on Quando Rondo, according to Corcoran’s affidavit, which refers to him by the initials “T.B.” for Tyquian Bowman. The document further alleges that the hired assailants used financial support from OTF to carry out the plot.
This high-profile case has drawn significant attention, with fans and legal observers alike closely following developments.
