Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, known for his entertaining Elden Ring playthroughs and wild stunts, broke down in tears during a recent stream following accusations that his cameraman had been inappropriately messaging minors.
The Allegations
The controversy began when a 19-year-old Twitter user shared screenshots of messages allegedly exchanged with Kai's cameraman, ChrisV. The messages indicated that the user was 17 years old at the time of the interaction.
The victim reached out to Kai directly, stating, "Chris (your cameraman) is definitely a pedo too," and explaining, "he asked for my age, I lied [and] said 19 [because] my friends told me to. As soon as he DM’d me, I told him my real age. I thought he was gonna stop answering … Later on, it turned to him being flirtatious and texting me wild s***."
Kai Cenat's Response
During his emotional Twitch stream, Kai confirmed the allegations against ChrisV and announced that he had parted ways with his cameraman. "This s*** is so f****** dumb. My cameraman Chris, in 2021, he got caught talking to a minor who was 17 years old," Kai revealed.
Kai expressed his frustration and disappointment, saying, "I reached out to the person. She showed me every single thing. It’s confirmed. I’m sick and tired of having to do s*** like this." He assured his audience that he would no longer be associating with ChrisV and would ensure that "s*** behind the scenes is being taken care of the right way."
A Growing Concern in the Streaming Community
This incident adds to a troubling trend of online personalities facing allegations of inappropriate behavior. Notably, MrBeast's associate Ava Kris Tyson and DrDisrespect have also been accused of similar misconduct.
Despite the controversy, Kai Cenat's content will continue as usual, albeit without ChrisV as part of his team. The streamer is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for his audience and colleagues.
