Spate Magazine Interview With Jezze B

Jezze B

We got a chance to speak with up and coming singer/rapper Jezze B check it out.

So tell us a little bit about you

I'm Jezze B, a female rapper, singer, and writer from The Boogie down Bronx. I've worked on two projects in 2016, my EP "High Heels and Headphones" and my self titled album "Jezze B" that I worked on with producer Floyd Fisher (Public Enemy, Aaron Hall, MTV) that is available on ITunes, Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, and Amazon music. Oh, and also I'm an Aquarius lol

What are you currently working on right now?

I am currently working on a new project called "Popular Misfit" which will be available on my website

When did you realize you wanted to be a singer?

I've honestly been singing for as long as I can remember. My dad is a DJ that grew up alongside many of the greats such as DJ Kool Herc and Grandmaster Caz, so music has always been in my veins.

Being a indie artist can be rough, what keeps you motivated to keep going?

Rough is an understatement lol it can definitely put you through the motions. I've had plenty of moments where I want to quit but my LOVE for it keeps me pushing. I believe in putting it out into the universe and waiting to receive what you want.

Are you interested in anything outside of music?

I love dancing so I definitely want to incorporate dance into my next video. Acting is also something I have been dipping into and you can catch me in a couple of web series later this year.

Where do you see your music career in 2 years?

I see myself touring worldwide and continuing to make music that I love.

What artists or producers would you like to collaborate with?

This is always such a hard question, because I love so many artists but I would definitely love to work with Jadakiss, J. Cole, Jhene Aiko, and Erykah Badu to name a few. As far as producers I would love to work with Mike Will Made It and Calvin Harris.

How do you feel about the state of R&B music?

R&B music is changing just like every other genre of music. I just wish there was more of a diversity of R&B music being played on the radio. There are many R&B artists making great music that aren't get the popularity or promotion that they deserve.

Do you have any events or releases coming up?

Yes, my new project "Popular Misfit" that I worked on with producers Floyd Fisher and O.Banga Productions. I also have a few features with the artist Friggidy that I am working on.

How can people find you online?
People can find me at and can also follow me on IG at Jezze_B
