Sonicbids: Spate Magazine Exclusive interview with Ferris Bueller

FERRIS BUELLER

So tell the people a little about yourself.

I’m Ferris Bueller, clearly inspired from the movie. I was born and raised on the Westside of Charlotte, NC. That’s really it, I’m a modest guy so I’d rather not talk about myself. Plus I think my music explains it all.

What are you working on right now?

I’m currently finishing up my mixtape Progression: Volume 2. Which would be my fifth tape in about a year and a half. After that I’m going to start recording an EP that’s yet to be named. I’m just collecting beats and trying to figure out what direction I want to go in with it, it’s essentially an album and I want to be prepared as I can.

What makes your style of music unique?

What makes me unique? Just the way I blend styles and content. I’ve seen a lot and I’ve experienced a lot but I like to take people on a journey. I don’t want my music to be limited to a certain lane, I think people across the all walks of life can appreciate what I speak on. Cause it’s every day shit, you know? No gimmicks.

Who are you listening to right now?

The artists that I’m currently listening to the most Nipsey Hussle, Buddy, Emilio Rojas, and Jordan Bratton. But It’s so many more I could name like Rickie Jacobs, Chance Fischer, KYLE, Gambino, the list is really endless.

Where do you see yourself in the next two years?

In the next two years I hope to be on tour, whether it be as an opener or me headlining a regional tour. I think I’m laying the groundwork for that now. I’m excited to keep building on the bit of momentum I have.

How do you stay motivated?

I love rap, that’s why I do it. Also, I see a lane opening for NC Hip Hop. Obviously there’s J. Cole, Rapsody, King Mez, Deniro Farrar to name a few. I think people are starting to see we have a lot of talent here and I feel like as long as I keep working hard my name should be added to that list as well.

Do you have any events coming up?

I’m doing local shows now in Greensboro, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and even up to Richmond, VA. I’m packing them out, so I know it’s only matter of time before they get bigger. My shows are all energy but with my lyricism it makes for a great set.

Do you have a team in place?

I have a small team in place. My main producer is Mr. 747 (@J_Currence on Twitter). My good friend Ezra Turner does all my graphics (@ezrabake on Twitter). And Cassandra Johnson (@Johnson_Cassie on Twitter) has helped me on the PR side of things, securing a couple interviews for me before. Other than that I’m my own manager & booking agent.

How can new and old fans find you?

You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, & Soundcoud all @Bueller704. And my Instagram is @lordbueller.
