Migos may be preparing for one final chapter, as Quavo confirms that he and Offset are working together again while keeping Takeoff's legacy at the center of the music.
One of hip-hop's most influential groups could be preparing for a major return.
Quavo has confirmed that he and Offset are working on what is being described as a final Migos album, with plans also being discussed for the two surviving members to take the Migos legacy back on tour.
Even more significant for longtime fans, Takeoff is expected to remain part of the project through previously unreleased material recorded before his death.
Quavo Says Migos Are Coming Back
Quavo confirmed the reunion while speaking with Atlanta radio personality DJ Greg Street on V-103.
“We coming back. We're going to do it one more time,” Quavo said, adding that the group intends to “do it right” and tour behind the project.
The upcoming album would follow Culture III, released in 2021. That project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and became the final Migos studio album released during Takeoff's lifetime.
The announcement also represents another major development in the relationship between Quavo and Offset.
Following tension within the group and the members pursuing separate projects, the two rappers gradually began appearing together again after Takeoff's death in November 2022. Their emotional reunion at the 2023 BET Awards, where they honored Takeoff, became an important moment for Migos fans.
More recently, Quavo and Offset have been seen working together in the studio.
Now it appears those sessions are becoming something much bigger.
Takeoff's Voice Could Be Central to the Album
For Quavo, continuing Migos doesn't mean forgetting that the group was built as a trio.
He has emphasized the importance of making the new music feel authentic while honoring Takeoff.
Quavo explained during a Hot 97 interview that he wants the project to have the proper elements to make the music feel as though Takeoff were still present.
Previously unreleased Takeoff recordings are expected to appear on the project.
Quavo has also argued that keeping all of Takeoff's unreleased work locked away wouldn't necessarily be the best way to preserve his legacy. He believes fans should have an opportunity to hear some of the music Takeoff left behind.
That could make the upcoming album very different from a typical hip-hop reunion.
Instead of simply putting Quavo and Offset together under the Migos name, the project could function as a final musical chapter involving all three members.
Could the New Migos Album Arrive in January 2027?
There is still no officially announced release date.
However, Quavo recently provided another clue.
During an appearance on The Baller Alert Show, Quavo said he and Offset were nearly ready to turn in the album and pointed toward January as a meaningful period for Migos.
“We almost ready to turn it in too,” Quavo said, while suggesting fans “might get something” around January.
That makes January 2027 a potential window to watch, but fans shouldn't consider it a confirmed album release date yet.
No official album title, tracklist or release day has been announced.
Quavo and Offset Could Tour Together Again
The comeback could extend beyond streaming platforms.
Quavo has also said touring is part of the plan.
A Migos tour featuring Quavo and Offset would create another major question: how would the group incorporate Takeoff into the live experience?
Video tributes, archival vocals and performances built around Takeoff's verses could potentially allow his presence to remain central to the show, although no details about the proposed tour production have been announced.
There are currently no confirmed cities, venues or tour dates.
Why This Migos Album Matters
Migos helped reshape the sound of mainstream hip-hop during the 2010s.
Quavo, Offset and Takeoff turned their distinctive chemistry, rapid flows and signature ad-libs into a style that spread throughout rap and popular music.
Records including “Versace” helped introduce the group to a wider audience before Culture became a major commercial breakthrough in 2017.
“Bad and Boujee” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the Culture era helped establish Migos as one of the defining rap groups of their generation.
That's why another Migos album carries considerably more weight than an ordinary reunion project.
Quavo and Offset aren't simply attempting to recreate an earlier moment in their careers. They're trying to determine how the Migos story continues—or concludes—without Takeoff physically beside them.
The Bigger Question: Can Migos Still Be Migos?
That's ultimately what makes this one of the most interesting hip-hop stories heading toward 2027.
Migos was never simply Quavo and Offset with another rapper added to the group.
Takeoff's understated delivery, technical flow and chemistry with his family members were fundamental parts of the Migos sound.
If unreleased Takeoff recordings are carefully incorporated into new music from Quavo and Offset, this album could potentially give fans something they never expected to hear again: all three voices together on a Migos record.
But it also creates difficult creative questions.
How much unreleased Takeoff material exists? How much of it was originally intended for Migos? And how do Quavo and Offset build new records around those performances without making Takeoff's contributions feel disconnected from the music?
Those answers could ultimately determine how fans receive the project.
For now, one thing is clear: Quavo and Offset are working together again, another Migos album is in development, and Takeoff's legacy is expected to remain at the heart of it.
If January brings the beginning of the rollout, hip-hop could be preparing to witness the final chapter of one of the most influential rap groups of the past decade.
