The Philadelphia 76ers are giving one of the tallest players in NBA history another opportunity to make an NBA roster.

Philadelphia announced the signing of 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall, along with guard Jameer Nelson Jr. and forward Saint Thomas, ahead of the team’s 2026 training camp. All three players are reportedly joining the Sixers on Exhibit 10 contracts. citeturn0view0turn0news10

Tacko Fall Gets Another NBA Opportunity

Fall, 30, has not appeared in an NBA regular-season game since the 2021-22 season, when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Senegalese center originally entered the NBA after going undrafted in 2019 following four seasons at UCF. His massive frame and personality quickly helped him become a fan favorite during his time with the Boston Celtics.

Fall played two seasons in Boston from 2019 to 2021, where he was teammates with current Sixers star Jaylen Brown, before spending the 2021-22 season with Cleveland. (espn.com)

Across 37 career NBA games, Fall has averaged 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds while playing limited minutes. After leaving the NBA, he continued his career internationally, including stops in China and Australia. Most recently, Fall played for the Ningbo Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association. citeturn0news10turn0search1

What Tacko Fall’s Contract Means

Fall has not been handed a guaranteed place on Philadelphia’s regular-season roster.

An Exhibit 10 contract allows the Sixers to bring him into training camp and evaluate whether he can earn a longer-term role within the organization. The deal could potentially be converted into a two-way contract, and Philadelphia has an open two-way roster spot heading into camp. (nbcsports.com)

That makes Fall one of the more intriguing players to watch when Sixers training camp begins later this month.

At 7-foot-6, Fall provides a physical presence few players can match. Philadelphia already has Joel Embiid at center, but training camp will give the organization an opportunity to determine whether Fall can provide additional depth or earn another role within the Sixers’ system.

Sixers Also Add Jameer Nelson Jr. and Saint Thomas

Philadelphia’s training camp additions extend beyond Fall.

Jameer Nelson Jr. is coming off a productive season with the G League’s Stockton Kings. The guard averaged 18.9 points, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 25 games while shooting 47.5% from the field.

Nelson also has a notable connection to the organization. His father, former NBA All-Star Jameer Nelson Sr., currently serves as the Sixers’ executive vice president of basketball operations. (espn.com)

Saint Thomas is already familiar with Philadelphia’s system after playing for the Delaware Blue Coats last season. Thomas averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Sixers’ G League affiliate. (espn.com)

Can Tacko Fall Make the 76ers Roster?

Fall will have to prove during training camp that he can still contribute at the NBA level after four seasons away from the league.

His size remains his most obvious advantage, particularly as a rebounder, rim protector and interior presence. The bigger questions will be whether Fall can defend effectively in today’s faster NBA and provide enough mobility and consistency to earn a roster spot.

For now, Philadelphia is making a low-risk bet on one of basketball’s most recognizable big men.

And after several years overseas, Tacko Fall officially has another shot at completing an NBA comeback.
