Atlanta's own OutKast, the groundbreaking hip-hop duo of André 3000 and Big Boi, will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. This marks a significant milestone, as they become the first rap duo to receive this honor, highlighting their pivotal role in bringing Southern hip-hop to the forefront of the music industry.
OutKast's innovative blend of funk, jazz, and soul with hip-hop elements redefined the genre in the mid-1990s. Their critically acclaimed albums, including ATLiens, Aquemini, and the Grammy-winning Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, not only achieved commercial success but also influenced a generation of artists.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 8, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Fans can watch the event live on Disney+, with subsequent broadcasts on ABC and Hulu.
While it's yet to be confirmed if OutKast will reunite for a performance at the ceremony, such an appearance would be their first since their 2014 reunion tour, adding to the anticipation surrounding the event.
