JAY-Z has announced a significant restructuring at Roc Nation as the record label merges with its distribution arm, Equity Distribution. According to Billboard, the newly unified entity will be called Roc Nation Distribution.
Previously, Equity Distribution focused on working with independent artists who wanted to retain ownership of their masters. Despite this merger, Roc Nation will continue to scout and sign new talent, aiming to expand and strengthen its artist roster.
This merger also brings a significant leadership change. Shari Bryant, the co-president of Roc Nation, will be stepping down from her position after five years with the company.
