In a masterful performance, Terence Crawford destroyed Errol Spence Jr. to win the undisputed welterweight championship on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. Crawford scored a ninth-round TKO.
The IBF, WBA, and WBC 147-pound belts, in addition to his WBO crown, were taken away by Crawford after knocking Spence to the ground in rounds two and seven.
After buckling a bloodied and swollen Spence in Round 9, Crawford, 35, was fortunately spared a longer penalty when referee Harvey Dock cut the time down to 2 minutes, 32 seconds.
Despite protesting the stoppage, Spence appeared to be losing all but the first frame.
