Eminem Now Has the Longest-Charting Rap Album of All Time

Between his monstrous album sales and numerous award nominations, Eminem‘s list of accomplishments is almost unfathomably long—and it only continues to grow. Recently, the folks at the Detroit Metro Times reported the rapper’s greatest hits album, titled Curtain Call: The Hits, has now been on the Billboard Top 200 chart for 350 weeks, making it the longest-charting rap album of all time.
Released in 2005, the project featured the very best of Eminem’s previous work, including tracks like “My Name Is,” “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” “The Real Slim Shady” and more. It also included four new singles, including “When I’m Gone.” It’s pretty much a perfect snapshot of Em at the different peaks of his career, so it isn’t hard to see why it’s so popular.
Curtain Call isn’t the only Em album that’s spent a disproportionate amount of time on the charts, either. His 2002 effort Eminem Show was on the Billboard 200 chart for 329 weeks (!), while his 2010 album Relapse was also comfy on the list, spending 288 weeks on the chart.
The crazy part about this latest accomplishment is it probably isn’t even his most impressive of 2017. Recently, it was revealed “Stan,” which is the name of a legendary Em song that’s subsequently become a slang term in the pop culture zeitgeist, has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary
