California DB Commits to Class of 2018

(Ralphier Report)
The first day of fall camp also signaled a new commitment for the Buffs.

The Buffs closed out July with yet another highly ranked commit from California. L.J. Wallace, who has been all about the Buffs since he got offered, finally made it official today.
Wallace plays at Buchach Colony High School in Atwater, California, which sits in the northern part of the state. Due to his relatively rural location, he had regional offers until CU gave him an offer. He is rated as a 3-star on Scout/247 (they share a database now) and Rivals, and ESPN hasn’t learned about him. PAC-12 schools are getting smarter about CU recruiting, as he added offers from Cal and Oregon State after the Buffs. They weren’t enough to sway him.
His tape looks good. Once again, the coaching staff lands a defensive back that fits Coach Mac’s preferred mold to a tee. LJ is long, aggressive, and physical. As a part time receiver, he also has great ball skills and high-points the reception easily. It takes him a bit to get up to full speed, but he closes quickly with his long legs. He would fit in at safety or cornerback for the Buffs.
